Welcome to Haiku Inspired By Nature
The Spring of 2020 came with a quarantine from the corona virus. I found refuge sitting on my back deck taking in all the gifts from Mother Nature.
As the days went on, I found myself studying those gifts closer. At the same time a friend invited everyone to join her in a daily haiku.
After thinking about it for several days, I was inspired by the jasmine with the full moon behind it, on the back arbor, looking like black lace. Maybe a Stevie Nicks moment?
Big fat bumble bee
Lands on delicate flower
Oh but never falls
From that revelation started my journey of simple daily haikus inspired by nature.
I have continued to write haikus shooting for one a week. I now call my backyard “Haiku Garden”.
After the success of my first book, a second dream was realized when I published my second book of haikus in April 2024.
The two books have led to invitations to give haiku talks and haiku workshops. The fun adventure continues!

Soft long green tendrils
Mother Nature lace so fine
The beauty of fern
Cold chilly morning
Squirrels curled up in their beds
Furry tail blankets
Each haiku is special to me, and I hope you find your own inspiration within each one. The beauty of nature, art, and poetry combined is a step into the mystic for me. – Tim
